Free Opera in San Francisco's
Golden Gate Park
11:15 a.m. - afternoon
Join Jonathon Eros in watching these
SF Opera selections from the upcoming year's opera season FREE FREE FREE
today in the park's Sharon Meadow. Sharon Meadow is at the southeastern
end of the park, between the Children's Playground and the tennis courts
across the street from the huge Victorian Glass House. Opera starts
at 1:30 p.m. (should end around 4:00), but to help with seating please
try to join group during singing warm-ups by 11:15 a.m. (yes, latecomers
will be welcomed, but need earlybirds to hold seating space!) Look
for organizer in chair, wearing vest & hat, surrounded by tarps.
We'll be on the flat area, in the extreme rear/left rear corner of field's
right rectangle by aisle, and will try to fly colorful thingies from pole
for ID as long as allowed. Police make organizer remove it by showtime,
but organizer'll fly Sierra Club banner as long as possible. Organizer
may supply for drunken sots, and please bring picnic fare to share and
be prepared for sitting on grass in the sun. Remember to plan for
the park being closed to vehicles on Sundays.
